Have you ever known that God was calling you to forgive someone, but the hurt was so deep that you didn’t know how?
Forgiveness can be especially hard when the person who hurt you was someone who was supposed to love, protect, or care for you. You may know what the Bible says about forgiveness, but actually walking it out when you’re still carrying pain is a completely different story.
In this episode of The Mom Self-Care Podcast, I’m joined by Lisa Schafer to talk about Christian forgiveness, healing from painful experiences, and how God’s Word can help us begin letting go of bitterness and moving toward freedom.
Lisa shares parts of her own story, including experiencing abuse and feeling like a discarded daughter. I also share some of my own experience with the hurt of having a father who wasn’t there. We talk about why forgiveness doesn’t mean pretending that what happened was okay and why part of healing is being willing to look at how the pain is still affecting you today.
In this episode, we talk about:
💜 What biblical forgiveness really looks like when the hurt is deep.
💜 Why starting with what God’s Word says about you is an important part of healing.
💜 How unresolved hurt and bitterness can continue affecting your life.
💜 Practical first steps toward forgiving the unforgivable and finding freedom.
If you’ve been struggling to forgive someone who hurt you or wondering how to begin healing from your past, I hope this conversation reminds you that God sees your pain, His Word still speaks truth over who you are, and you don’t have to stay stuck in what happened to you.

Why Moms Need to Slow Down - EPS 110

Momma, have you ever known you needed to slow down, but you kept pushing yourself anyway?
As moms, we can get so used to taking care of everyone else that often we ignore what we need. Even when we're tired, overwhelmed, or our body is telling us to slow down, we still feel like we need to keep going.
In this episode of The Mom Self-Care Podcast, I'm talking about why slowing down is an important part of self-care for moms and what happened when I had to remind myself of this recently.
Sometimes self-care means recognizing that you don't have the same capacity you normally have and asking yourself a simple question: What do I need today?
If you're a busy mom who struggles to rest, feels guilty slowing down, or has gotten used to putting your needs on the back burner, this episode is for you.
And if you’re ready to go deeper and start prioritizing yourself consistently, I want to invite you to my Self-Care for Busy Moms class. This is where I help you move past mom guilt, renew your mindset, and learn how to show up with more peace, confidence, and clarity… not just as a mom, but as a woman too.

Self-care isn’t always what we think it is. Most of the time, we think about rest. Taking a break and slowing down. And yes, those things matter. But sometimes self-care looks very different. Sometimes it looks like showing up… even when you’re afraid.
In this episode of The Mom Self-Care Podcast, I’m sharing a personal takeaway from my recent brand photo shoot and how it shifted the way I think about self-care as a busy mom. Because it wasn’t just about taking pictures. It was about being seen, stepping outside of my comfort zone, and doing something that felt uncomfortable… but I knew I needed to show up for me.
If you’ve been feeling stuck, holding yourself back, or waiting until you feel ready to do something, this episode is going to challenge you in a good way. I talk a lot about self-care for moms, but what if part of taking care of yourself is choosing to show up, use your voice, and do something courageous… even when you don’t feel ready?
If you’ve been struggling with fear, self-doubt, or feeling like you keep putting yourself on the back burner, I think this will really speak to you.
And if you’re ready to go deeper and start prioritizing yourself for real, I want to invite you to my Self-Care for Busy Moms class. This is where I help you move past mom guilt, renew your mindset, and learn how to show up with more peace, confidence, and clarity… not just as a mom, but as a woman.

Momma, this week I’m taking some intentional time to rest and be present with my family, so I’m bringing back an episode from the archives that’s still just as relevant today.
If you missed this conversation the first time, or need to hear it again, I pray it reminds you that your needs matter too. Press play, and let me know in the comments what stood out to you most.
As moms, many of us have learned to serve from a place of exhaustion. We put ourselves on the back burner, push through emotional fatigue, and tell ourselves this is just part of motherhood.
We have to learn to protect our energy. Protecting your energy isn’t about adding more to your plate. It’s about letting go of what no longer serves you in a positive way.
In this episode of The Mom Self-Care Podcast, I’m sharing what it really looks like to protect your energy as a mom by making intentional choices, setting small boundaries, and releasing the patterns that keep you emotionally drained.
In this episode, I address:
💜 Why letting go requires action, not avoidance.
💜 How small boundaries make a big difference.
💜 Saying no without explaining or feeling guilty.
May this bless you!

Do you often feel overwhelmed, overstimulated, or like you're always waiting for something to go wrong in motherhood?
In this episode, we're talking about nervous system regulation for moms, daily emotional check-ins, and simple calming exercises you can practice with your children.
I'm joined by Cendrine to talk about what she calls daily nervous system hygiene and why caring for your nervous system should become as normal as feeding and taking care of your body. When your nervous system is constantly in high-alert mode, it can be difficult to rest, think clearly, or respond to your children the way you want to.
You may find yourself reacting quickly, feeling on edge, or struggling to feel safe even when nothing is wrong. Cendrine explains how we can create a new normal where we become our own place of safety instead of always looking outside of ourselves for reassurance.
She also walks me through some simple nervous system regulation exercises that moms can practice and teach their children. And yes, we tried a few of them together and had some fun too. lol!
In this episode, we talk about:
💜 How to recognize when you're living in a constant state of high alert.
💜 Why your nervous system needs daily care and attention.
💜 Simple calming exercises for overwhelmed moms and children.
💜 Why setting a boundary to care for yourself shows your children that momma needs maintenance too.
If you've been feeling constantly stressed, or more reactive than you'd like, this conversation will help you understand where to begin. It will also remind you that caring for your emotional health and nervous system benefits your entire family.

Do you ever feel like you can’t rest as a mom… even when you’re exhausted? Like your body is tired, but your mind won’t slow down?
For so many moms, it’s not just about having a lot to do. It’s the constant mental load of motherhood, everything you haven’t finished, and everything you’re trying not to forget.
In this episode of The Mom Self-Care Podcast, I’m talking about why it feels so hard to rest as a mom when you’re overwhelmed and carrying so much mentally. I’m also sharing a concept called the Zeigarnik Effect and how it explains why your brain keeps holding onto unfinished tasks.
So even when you sit down, your mind doesn’t. If you’ve ever felt like you need to finish everything before you can relax, or like your brain won’t let you rest, this episode will help you understand what’s really going on. And more importantly, it will give you a few simple ways to work with your mind so you’re not constantly feeling overwhelmed or mentally drained.
If you’ve been feeling like an overwhelmed mom who can’t rest and always has something else to do, I think this is really going to speak to you.
And if you’re ready to go deeper and finally break free from that constant pressure and mom guilt, I want to invite you to my Release Mom Guilt Masterclass. Learn more here: https://payhip.com/b/Uxbfh 💜

Have you ever felt like your dreams have been put on hold after becoming a mom?
Maybe motherhood, a difficult season, health challenges, or unexpected setbacks have left you wondering if it's too late to pursue the things God has placed on your heart.
In this episode, I'm joined by Angela Fuller, mom, fitness instructor, speaker, and American Ninja Warrior, to talk about rebuilding confidence after life's challenges and why it's never too late to pursue your dreams.
Angela shares her journey through chronic pain, postpartum depression, and a life-changing car accident, and how her faith helped her keep moving forward.
We also talk about the difference between simply surviving and truly healing, why healing happens in community, and how God can use every season to prepare us for what's next.
In this episode, you'll learn:
💜 Why confidence doesn't have to come before taking the first step.
💜 The difference between surviving a difficult season and truly healing.
💜 How faith can help you keep moving forward when life feels hard.
💜 How you can chase your dreams alongside your children instead of waiting until they're grown.
If you've been wondering whether this season is all there is, I hope this conversation encourages you to keep trusting God and reminds you that He isn't finished writing your story yet.

Have you been carrying mom guilt from one month to the next without even realizing it?
As we start a new month, it’s easy to bring the same expectations, and the same thoughts with us. The desire to do everything right, to do more, and to be everything for everyone doesn’t just go away on its own. That’s what keeps the cycle of mom guilt going.
In this episode of The Mom Self-Care Podcast, I'm talking about what it really looks like to leave mom guilt behind as you move forward. Not by wishing it away, but by shifting the way you think, what you hold on to, and what you believe about yourself as a mom.
If you’ve been feeling the pressure to hold everything together, and struggling with mom guilt, this episode will help you pause, reflect, and make different choices in the future.
And if you’re ready to go deeper and truly break free from the weight of mom guilt, I want to invite you to my Release Mom Guilt Masterclass. Have you ever felt like everything depends on you as a mom?
Like if you don’t get this mom thing right, your children will be affected in ways you can’t fix later?
Many moms carry that pressure without even realizing it. We love our children so much, but that love can slowly turn into fear, control, and feeling responsible for things that were never ours to carry.
In this episode of The Mom Self-Care Podcast, I’m sharing 3 scriptures that will challenge the way you think about your role as a mom. Including what happens when we start putting our children in a place only God was meant to have.
In this episode, you’ll hear:
💜 What it really means to let go of the past and move forward.
💜 How your thoughts can keep you stuck if you don’t take them captive.
💜 The truth about putting God first, even before your children.
If you’ve been feeling like you have to hold everything together, make all the right decisions, and protect your children from everything, this episode is for you!
And if this is something you’ve been struggling with, especially when it comes to feeling responsible for everything and carrying that weight as a mom, I want to invite you to my Release Mom Guilt Masterclass.
This is where I help you break free from the pressure, the overthinking, and the belief that you have to be a perfect mom, so you can show up as the mom God is calling you to be without all the guilt.

Are you carrying around the heavy weight of mom guilt this summer, Momma? In last week's episode, my guest and I talked about why Christian moms struggle so much with feeling guilty just for taking care of themselves. Today, I am taking the next step to look at the spiritual root of that weight and how to dismantle it for good.
In this episode, I am diving deep into a truth bomb dropped by my recent guest: conviction comes from God, but guilt comes from you.
If you’ve ever wondered if that heavy, nagging feeling in your heart is a holy check up or a scheme from the enemy, this episode is for you. I am addressing the difference between Holy Spirit conviction and the mom guilt that leads to condemnation.
In this episode, I talked about:
💜 How to instantly know if a feeling is drawing you closer to God or making you want to hide from Him in shame.
💜 How the Holy Spirit lovingly checks our spirit before we even make a mistake.
💜 The question to ask yourself the next time that heavy feeling hits so you can stop the cycle of condemnation. Conviction is to help protect your peace and growth, not punish you.
RESOURCE MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: Ready to break free from the heavy weight of mom guilt and condemnation for good? In the Release Mom Guilt Masterclass, you will learn how to silence the negative self-talk and tune into God's peaceful direction for your life.
